Quick Updates!

Wow! Before I knew it seven months have gone by! Soooo many things have happened. It took me a little bit to adjust to being back home. Reverse culture shock wasn't as bad as I anticipated. I was super tired though while my body was adjusting to having my nights be my days. I would get super sleepy at work and had to fight through it.

I still have some posts to write about the end of my time in China. I also have some quick updates to share :)

I got a job a few days after I arrived in NYC! Which was awesome, but super tiring with the whole adjusting back thing. My job is okay; it's a step in the right direction, and I can pay my bills.

Boba and I celebrated our two year anniversary! I doesn't feel like we've been together that long (in a good way lol). I cannot remember for life of me what we did. We always go out on mini dates and do sweet things for each other. We tend to do bigger all day dates every two weeks or so, so it makes since that I don't remember lol

I went home to Alabama in September for a weekend to visit the fam and see my heterosexual life partner Sarah get married. We were assigned roommates in college and first met each other in NY despite having lived 30 minutes away from each other for most of our lives lol I actually had my first years study course with her husband. It's so funny that they were the first few people I met. I actually met them both separately at college, and suggested Sarah join an improv group that he was in and now they're married!

During this break at home my aunt, niece, and I took my box braids out. I had pretty much made the decision to go natural, so my aunt cut the relaxed hair out. I will admit, it was definitely not the mental image I had of myself, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Heck, even with a relaxer I still didn't match up with that image. But I think it's a step closer. It just felt, this is gonna be cheesy I know, but natural. I felt a little more like myself. I'm excited to see what my hair has in store for me!

In October, I went to NY Comic Con, and I did my first cosplay! Boba and I did a couple cosplay. It was super cute and we had lots if fun. I'll have a post on that soon. I'll give you a hint for the character that I cosplayed. She had orange hair and is from a super popular series that also had video games. I hope to go for two days this year instead of only one. It would be nice to see the vendor on a chiller day. Saturday is always super freakin packed!

I moved into a new apartment in New Jersey in November. It's really nice to be out of the daily subway commute. I usually get a seat on the bus even during rush hour. I am super close to NYC and have a nice view of the city at night across the water. I like having a real grocery store near me that has a huge selection unlike some of the grocery stores in the city. I also have access to a three floor mall!!! My friend Alex and I went on the light rail a few Sundays ago. I really missed having a good mall within reach. We were there for like three hours and then he took me to Hoboken to explore Washington street. There was SOOOO much there! I can't wait to go back to those places with Boba when it warms up.

Just wanted to give some brief updates on what's been going on in my world. I hope my readers have been well. Any new news? I am excited for the year of the horse. I heard it's supposed to be a very magical year. I'm gonna look into it and do more research. I def feel a change in the air, some unknown feeling of endless possibilities. I can't wait ^_^
