Japan Week at Grand Central and Meeting Domo kun!

Howdy there, I just got back from a relaxing long weekend. I hope everyone is staying warm. On Friday I had the day off and decided to stop by the Japan Week event at Grand Central. The event lasted from February 18th to February 20th. The event is sponsored by the Japan Tourism Agency, Japan National Tourism Organization, and few Japanese businesses in NYC and Japan. They even had a stage for performances.
One side had booths for Japanese businesses while the other side was set up like a Depachika. This event was my first time hearing this term. A depachika is a food market located in the basement of a Japanese department store. Sweets, street food, and snacks are typically sold. Mitsuwa even had a booth!

Guess who I got to meet?! Domo kun!!!
I saw on the website that there was someone in a Doraemon costume but I didn't see the person during my time there.
The depachika side smelled amazing; some of my favorite snack places were there like Beard Papa's^^ Their cream puffs are amazing! It was nice to experience a little taste of Japan. This event has been going on since 2012. Each year has looked amazing, so I imagine next year will be awesome as well. I look forward to the chance to go visit hopefully in the near future. I'll definitely have to brush up on my Japanese before I go though! Thanks for reading!

Sweet Cafe by Voltage

Hey love bugs! Voltage has released a new app called Sweet Cafe that I am absolutely in love with. Released earlier this week, the app is a that contains unreleased Voltage stories. You use Voltage tickets to obtain these stories. The app's designs is freakin adorable and it thoroughly explains how to get Voltage tickets and play a mini game called Coin Drop. Coin Drop allows you to win images, avatars of the guys, and outfits. I tried to play the Coin Drop game, but I gave up after a while. I think it's a good feature, I just happen to suck at games like that.

There are three different ways to obtain tickets. The first is to purchase stories from the other apps. Here's the chart below detailing how many tickets you get for purchases you make on their story routes.
You can also obtain get a Voltage ticket if you visit the app each day for 5 days or you can purchase them. I've linked all of the apps that I will most likely by routes for. If it takes a minute for the news window to open, you can always tap on the i icon on the top page of each app to make it come up. You should see the message below once you've linked Sweet Cafe and the app.
I thought it was a really cute idea to feature some of Voltage's most popular guys and showcasing their personalities. You can even set a few of them (Ichigo, Yamato, Takuto) to be on your to page. They will make different remarks and facial expressions. I was quite impressed!
Of course my first story had to be the bae, Kippei❤︎ And believe me when I say his story was UHmazing! It didn't disappoint^^ I loved everything about it from the plot, to the setting, and especially the storyline.
If you love Voltage games, I definitely think you'll love this app. Thanks for reading♥︎

Mitsuwa Marketplace and Couple Purikura

Hello everyone! Boba and I took a trip on Sunday to Mitsuwa Marketplace a Japanese specialty grocery store that has a food court and a few other stores located in New Jersey. We do have a few Sunrise Marts in NYC that sell Japanese items and food, but we went to Mitsuwa specifically for the purikura machine. Which I was super excited to discover that they had as I've been wanting to take purikura pics for awhile and have never done it before. It was actually pretty easy to get to and their website gave great instructions which I really appreciated. It's only about 25-30 minutes from Port Authority, so it didn't take too long to get there.

The purikura machine is located in the store that sells traditional Japanese items and Japanese pop culture merch like wall scrolls and anime figurines. The store is right beside Kinokuniya and located near the Gundam kits.
The booth has a credit card option, but it doesn't work so make sure to bring cash. It costs $7 dollars for one round of photos. It was actually quite fun to do and the pictures came out super cute. I liked how it didn't feel like everyone could see you while you were taking photos. Most American photo booths I've been to the few times I've used them has the side out which is awkward. I wasn't used to the timing section, but it makes since so people don't decorate all day long while others are waiting to use the machine.
You could have one photo sent to your smartphone for free which I thought was a nice touch. If you wanted to purchase the rest of the pictures for digital download it was only 3 dollars. I decided to buy them all in case I lost the printed photos.

Star Crossed Myth Prologue Review

What's poppin! NYC's weather has been kicking my butt this week. Warm weather please come soon! In the meantime, I had the chance to play Voltage's newest release. Voltage allowed us to get a sneak peek of the prologue before the apps release by buying one of the newer sub stories in Love Letter From Thief X, Kissed by the Baddest Bidder, Class Trip Crush, Enchanted in the Moonlight, and My Forged Wedding.
February 1, 2015

The prologue opens with the MC praying for clear whether for the next day because her job is hsoting a Star Festival. A light rushes towards her and six men appear in her room.  The men mention something about being exiled by a king. They notice that the MC "has stars in her eyes". One of them ends up taking you up to view the stars, but you think it's a dream until they show up at your job the next day and save you from a fatal accident!
