How I Landed in Hot Water

Hello awesome people! Today at my job I served a customer a nice, hot cup of water after her massage. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary since it's something that we do for all our customers. Upon taking her first sip, I saw her take a sip and make a face. She remarked how it was weird to drink warm water. I couldn't help but laugh and share some of my stories from China.

In a previous post, I talked about things I miss. I definitely forgot cold things haha Even our ice cream in the summer time would be be melted because the freezers would barely be on in the store. Brit and I hated to go to Pizza Hut in the summer time where it was sweltering hot and be given hot water. In the winter time, I learned to appreciate it, but in the summer time.....um no! Hot not lukewarm or room temperature but freakin hot as hell water surrounded me everywhere. When Boba came to visit I was sure to buy lots of drinks and keep them super cold in my mini fridge a week before he came. He loads his drinks up with ice, no really he goes in. Luckily, when we were in Beijing we got to enjoy normal cold drink temperatures ^^

Ice was pretty non-existent and believe me you didn't want it anyway. The water in China is undrinkable. Most restaurants in Dongying would forget this and if by a snowball's chance in hell they had ice they would have filled up the ice tray from the tap. Eileen got a HUGEEE stomach ache one time because of this.

I work at a Japanese medical salon. I am the only non-native Japanese employee. I was told the reason we serve water at 120 degrees is because it is the same temperature as your organs. It seems like I am the only person that catches some customers giving their drink the side eye.

I'm not a fan of hot drinks either, actually I kind of hate all hot drinks except for hot chocolate. I'm a Southern girl, so my aversion to hot drinks makes since. I like my temperatures hot and my beverages cold. When I first came to New York, I would burn my tongue all the time because I just wasn't used to drinking hot things.

You give me a fresh ice cold glass of sweet tea and lemonade I'll stan for you. Give me a glass of freshly made piping hot Kool-Aid and I will look at you like you farted loudly at a funeral.

Who Shall I Marry?

I am super excited for the next Harvest Moon game. I really like the idea of the new gameplay and I'm so happy they have simplified some of the controls. The ability to trade with other countries sounds really fun. The ability to interact outside the main cast of characters is refreshing; I think that's why I really enjoyed The Tale of Two Towns. This games greatly expands upon that concept. And you can swim!!! It's set to be released in Japan in a day or two; ugh, if only I had a Japanese 3DS >_< My Japanese is good enough for me to play it.

I became a big fan of Harvest Moon after I played Sunshine Islands. In the beginning I had my reservations about the series. I figured I would either love it or be supremely bored by it. Luckily, the latter happened! I also have Grand Bazaar, The Tale of Two Towns, and A New Beginning.

Nothing ruins a Harvest Moon game more than a whack selection of bachelors. I ain't just here for the farming, and you know this man! I honestly believe Sunshine Islands is my favorite because I liked four out of the six eligible bachelors. I was digital mackin ^_^ That number greatly decreased with Grand Bazaar and The Tale of Two Towns; I only liked one bachelor in each game -_- A New Beginning was a little better with three.

I watched a trailer on YouTube and though I loved it I was super hesitant about buying it when it comes to the States. It all hinged on the bachelors. I decided to not make any judgements until there was more information on them.

Fast forward to last weekend when I randomly decided to check again and sure enough there they were! And suprise, surprise your girl is feeling all the bachelors!! Muahahahahahah! Pimpin ain't easy! I wonder if this will became my new favorite HM game. Too bad there isn't any info on their personalities. I'm good at playing spot the tsundere, so I pretty much figured it which one he is haha I read a forum for the game over at fogu, and Rega, Klaus, and Nadi seem to be the top three. Can't wait for this game to come out! All I can say is Natsume got me caught up. Bachelor game too strong!

Gyu-Kaku Date with Boba

Hey, hey, hey! I hope you had a great Valentine's Day with your loved ones and friends. I had a pretty nice V-Day despite the city being super crowded. Boba and I wanted to see a movie, but when we got to the theater we didn't see anything we wanted to see. We were gonna try I, Frankenstein, but saw it's horrible rating when we checked it out on Rotten Tomatoes, bless that site lol

We ended up going to Gyu-Kaku in the village. The wait was only an hour, so Boba took us to Video Games New York to buy me a V-Day gift^^ He's so sweet and knows me so well! I am not a flower person; I would rather be bought food or something else haha I was about to get Bravely Default for the 3DS when the shop owner told me about the new One Piece game that had just come out! I was SOOO excited because Boba and I had been talking about how cool it would be if there was a One Piece RPG available in the States. I figured why not get this instead since he's totally responsible for my One Piece addiction haha I read some okay reviews online about it, but I'm still excited to play it. I'll write a review on it later.

When we came back to Gyu-Kaku we only waited ten more minutes. I'm super happy that we decided to eat there instead of making a reservation at Max Brenner like I originally wanted. We ran into a friend there and he was waiting an extra hour and a half even though he had a reservation. Ummmmmm, no!!! I would have found somewhere else to eat. They had a special Valentine's Day course, but I wasn't feeling anything on that course menu. We looked at the regular menu and saw some more course options. We decided on the Geisha course. It had ten items on it which is a lot. So, I'm thinking that we had to pick a few things under each section. I was wrong, but in the best way. You everything on the course menu!!! There were a lot of things that I haven't tried on it, but they all sounded delicious. The Geisha was amazing and we stuffed by the end!

The next day I bought Boba the new Batman game (Arkham Origins) for his PS3 and surprised him after his shift with it. He didn't even expect it. We're just started playing it together right now and it seems really awesome so far.

Thanks for reading!

New York Comic Con 2013

I was ecstatic that I got to attend NY Comic Con. I missed going to the 2012 one due to being in China. This was my second time attending, and it was really nice. NYCC was the first convention I ever attended, my first time going was in 2011.

This was also my first time cosplaying! I've been wanting to cosplay for a long time. Since Boba is a huge geek/nerd, I decided to ask him to do a couple cosplay with me. I figured why not kill two birds with one stone : ) He was totally down with the idea. I thought it was super cute how he responded yes without any hesitation.
