Harvest Moon Tomfoolery?!

Hi lovely peeps! I am finally finding more time for myself. There's still a lot of posts that I need to write, but I'm not too far behind. It's been a dreary week in NYC, but today is looking a little better. I can't believe next week will be New York Comic Con! I'm really excited to attend^^ So as some of you know from my post awhile back that I am really excited for the next Harvest Moon game, or wait can I even call it a Harvest Moon game anymore?! Okay, let me start at the beginning.

A few days I ago I realized that it was getting closer to the release for the new Harvest Moon game (Story of Seasons). So, I decided to search the tag Harvest Moon tag in Twitter. So I see a game called The Lost Valley, and I'm like bish whet? Two Harvest Moon games in the same year?! Ayyyy turn up! But then something told me this can't be right upon closer inspection of the box art. I then remembered an article I read about how Natsume was not going to be distributing Story of Seasons.

To keep it short and simple, Harvest Moon's actual name is Bokujō Monogatari (牧場物語) which basically means Farm Story. In the West, it's called Harvest Moon, but the company that makes Bokujō Monogatari no longer owns the name Harvest Moon. Natsume retained the use of the title Harvest Moon. So essentially this Lost Valley game is not a Bokujō Monogatari game. It's a separate farming simulation/otome game made by Natsume.
This is Story of Seasons, which is the next game by the makers of Bokujō Monogatari
The Lost Valley, the new farming simulation game Natsume is creating with the Harvest Moon name

I don't really know what this means for the future of Bokujō Monogatari as far as naming conventions go. XSEED is just calling it Story of Seasons, so we'll see if the makers behind Bokujō Monogatari come up with a new Western title so people we be able to easily recognize it as their game. I hope too many people aren't left unawares and buy The Lost Valley game on accident. I know I would be ready to go H.A.M if that happened to me. So be careful what you buy! If any decides to give The Lost Valley a chance let me know how it is. I haven't played Minecraft before, but I saw a few people saying it had similar elements to that came so they weren't interested in it. Thanks for reading!

Gemini Gamer Attack! Well, right after I finish something else....

I would say my astrological sign description fits me. I know a little bit about everything, have a ton of interests, and love to talk my butt off. Some of the super negative traits I don't have; I think it's because my Sun sign and my Moon sign are both Gemini, so some of the bad attributes were canceled out. Two still haunt me in my gaming life: lack of follow through and indecisiveness. I have amazing organizational and planning skills outside of this area. If you ask my closest friends, they will let you know that I finished every assignment before the last minute which is amazing because my college was reading and writing heavy.

I had only beaten one video game in my entire life, and I've been gaming since I was three or four! It was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan game on the original Game Boy. It was actually the first video game I owned!!! : )

The fact that I am an RPG lover further complicates this issues and aids my indecisiveness. When I do finally get back in the mood for gaming, I have to pick through all of my awesome titles. If the game I pick happens to be wrong for the mood I'm in, I then lose my enthusiasm and the process starts all over again -_- If video games were were like the game of love, I would def be a love em and leave em type haha

And alas, it has happened again lol In my Valentine's post, I talked about how I had to choose between Bravely Default and One Piece: Romance Dawn. I got tired of Romance Dawn in a night...I know I'm that bad. It was cool to play as the Strawhat gang, but when I had the option to repeat a level that I had just beaten to fight a boss that I already fought before I gave up. I could have just continued the story, but I knew leveling up would be important for the next part of the game. I was like f it lol I still plan to do a review on it.

So, Boba and I had a mini date on Friday where we got Dim Sum and bubble tea. I tried a new flavor at one of my favorite boba spots, Ten Ren. It was Black Sugar Milk Tea, and it was sooo amazing. I was a little nervous that day because I was meeting one of his good friends from college. Before we met up with him, Boba surprised me and bought me Bravely Default! I am such a lucky girl! He knows about my video game commitment issues and he still bought me a new game : ) He also bought South Park: The Stick of Truth for himself. Also, the meeting with his friend went awesome! Nick was really funny and cool.

Also, for any of my readers that are hyped about the new Harvest Moon game Connect to a New Land I found a YouTube channel called Lin and Ko run by a super cute interracial couple that are playing the game live. They have about 11 videos up already. And no worries about the game being in Japanese for my non-Japanese speakers, they're translating it! I haven't had time to watch them yet, but it's definitely something I will do soon.

Thanks for reading! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Who Shall I Marry?

I am super excited for the next Harvest Moon game. I really like the idea of the new gameplay and I'm so happy they have simplified some of the controls. The ability to trade with other countries sounds really fun. The ability to interact outside the main cast of characters is refreshing; I think that's why I really enjoyed The Tale of Two Towns. This games greatly expands upon that concept. And you can swim!!! It's set to be released in Japan in a day or two; ugh, if only I had a Japanese 3DS >_< My Japanese is good enough for me to play it.

I became a big fan of Harvest Moon after I played Sunshine Islands. In the beginning I had my reservations about the series. I figured I would either love it or be supremely bored by it. Luckily, the latter happened! I also have Grand Bazaar, The Tale of Two Towns, and A New Beginning.

Nothing ruins a Harvest Moon game more than a whack selection of bachelors. I ain't just here for the farming, and you know this man! I honestly believe Sunshine Islands is my favorite because I liked four out of the six eligible bachelors. I was digital mackin ^_^ That number greatly decreased with Grand Bazaar and The Tale of Two Towns; I only liked one bachelor in each game -_- A New Beginning was a little better with three.

I watched a trailer on YouTube and though I loved it I was super hesitant about buying it when it comes to the States. It all hinged on the bachelors. I decided to not make any judgements until there was more information on them.

Fast forward to last weekend when I randomly decided to check again and sure enough there they were! And suprise, surprise your girl is feeling all the bachelors!! Muahahahahahah! Pimpin ain't easy! I wonder if this will became my new favorite HM game. Too bad there isn't any info on their personalities. I'm good at playing spot the tsundere, so I pretty much figured it which one he is haha I read a forum for the game over at fogu, and Rega, Klaus, and Nadi seem to be the top three. Can't wait for this game to come out! All I can say is Natsume got me caught up. Bachelor game too strong!
