I will be playing all the prologues in order. I decided to play in order to see if there's any changes or advancements in their style, writing, characterizations, etc. I might play the first chapter of characters I like and/or newly released characters that are not in the prologue. This post will review the first five Voltage games. At the end of the reviews, I'll have one final post where I briefly analyze Voltage's games as a whole. Let's get started!
1. Pirates in Love
July 29, 2011
Some meanie pirates attack the bar that you work at and two pirates save you. You flee the bar and decide to hid in a barrel, but before you can get out it's loaded onto a ship. You hit your head and lose consciousness in the barrel. When you awake you are still in the barrel and aboard a ship. A pirate from the same crew as the two pirates that saved you before lets you out and then mayhem ensues. You learn that you have to share a room with one of the men. Luckily, you get to pick which one.
This prologue starts with a bang, and I like the pirate slang. Eduardo and Russell were SOOO not funny with joking about throwing me off the boat. I kinda liked Nathan even though he was rough with the MC when he picked her up.

The MC: I like her so far. She is smart and sarcastic which I like. Girl's got some spunk!
The Guys of Pirates in Love
- Russell: He's impulsive and isn't afraid to start a fight. He's also a little scatterbrained lol
- Eduardo: The smart ass, kinky one. He says a mean things about the MC. He also makes really dirty comments. I can't tell if he's a sadist or just a douche.
- Christopher: The really nice, gentle ship doctor. He's very caring and polite. He actually introduces you to everyone.
- Nathan: Super tsundere to the rescue. He doesn't smile at all; he picks the MC up and throws her over his shoulder. I think there is sweet side there because he immediately takes you to the doctor when he realizes you hit your head.
- Thomas: He's a little naive and super sweet.
- Morgan: The captain of the crew. He's super jovial and easygoing.
- Alan: He isn't in the prologue : (
- Leonardo: He isn't in the prologue either.
Thoughts
Attractive: Eduardo, Morgan, Alan, Leonardo
Intriguing Character Description: Alan and Thomas
Routes I Want to Purchase: Eduardo, Nathan, Morgan
Guys I Didn't Care For: Russell
Note: Alan and Leonardo weren't in the prologue, so I couldn't get a sense of their character outside of the description.
Memorable lines
Really bruh? Nobody asked you how you felt. Since you're an option in this game, I know I have to be some kind of cute.
Some of them hooligans coulda fooled me!
2. My Forged Wedding
March 8th, 2012
Your character is a recent graduate who is having a hard time finding a job. Your have just arrived in Tokyo to live with your Uncle in hopes of him helping you find a job. He agrees to give you a job, but you have to do one of his friends a favor.
I can totally identify with the premise as I was in this position a few years ago. After I graduated from college I moved back home for the summer. I moved to NYC in September with no job and lived with my friends. It's such a realistic situation that it really drew me in.

The MC: I enjoyed reading her thoughts. She's pretty feisty, one of the best parts of her personality was that she actually stood up for herself instead of just thinking things. On con is that she be on that huh ish a little too much and it can get annoying.
The Guys of My Forged Wedding
- Yamato: Tsundere alert. He is insulting, immature, and gets easily jealous. He spends most of the prologue saying rude things. He still does nice things though.
- Saeki: Perv/flirt.
- Ren: Kinda shy. He doesn't say much, but it's to know how he feels or what's thinking.
- Takao: Super sweet, considerate, and supportive.
- Yuta: He's very friendly and talkative.
- Kunihiko: Your 'uncle'; he's friendly and comes off as laid back, but can be focused and serious.
- Kyoichi: He's cold and distant and occasionally says mean things.
- Haruka: He's elegant, gentle, and there's a lot of depth to him.

Guys I Can't Decide If I Like Him or Not:
- Yamato: I feel like he could be bearable in the beginning and I would love him after that. But I wouldn't want to spend my money on him first.
- Kunihiko: Her calling him Uncle even though he isn't is what makes it hecka awkward. It's just kinda weird, but I like his character.
Note: Kyoichi and Haruka aren't in the prologue. Luckily, I could read their first chapter for free. I couldn't really get a sense of Kunihiko, so I decided to read his first chapter as well.
3. Seduced in the Sleepless City
September 18th, 2012
You are a new reporter at a women's magazine covering the opening of a new casino. You happen to meet a bunch of hot, successful, and famous men. You decided who you want to spend the night with to avoid being kicked out and you later get the chance to interview the guy you pick.I think the story idea is really like a Cinderella tale (hence the name of the magazine the MC works for). It's a story that I can imagine a lot of women dreaming of, going to a nice event not expecting anything out of the ordinary, and then to your surprising meeting not only one but six princes! I like letting myself go to the fantasy, but it felt grounded because she was there for work.
The MC: I love that she has her dream job! I like how much she is focused on her job and doesn't let the hot guys distract her...too much.
- Yuzuki: The short tempered actor
- Ryoichi: The flirty novelist
- Noel: The blunt, distant F-1 racer
- Chihaya: The plastic surgeon. Nice, but a little odd
- Mirai: The engimatic, charismatic, and mysterious student
- Satsuki: The king of the business world. Charming and nice.
Thoughts
Attractive: Yuzuki, Ryoichi, Noel, Chihaya, Satsuki
Intriguing Character Description: Ryoichi and Mirai
Routes I Want to Purchase After Playing: Ryoichi and Satsuki
Guys I Didn't Care For: Noel and Chihaya
Memorable lines
Excuse the f**** outta me for freaking out at a tiger coming at me.
Well aren't you bold...
Thank you MC, thank you for keeping it real!
4. In Your Arms Tonight
November 4th, 2012
You're a newlywed who seems to have the perfect marriage on the outside, but in reality it's the exact opposite. To make matters worse you find out that your husband is having an affair. This was the first and only voltage game I played before this review, and it is definitely one of my favorites. It got me addicted to Voltage. This is only the only game that has multiple parts to its prologue which I think is pretty cool. I really love the adult theme. It's super sexy and naught; I like that it has traditional scenarios (like trying to make it work), realistic (trying to make it work and realizing it's not work), and unconventional ones (getting divorced immediately which is a big no no in Japan). I was really emotional involved in the story.
The MC: This is one of my favorite MCs. She can do no wrong in my book. She is extremely honest about herself and strives to better despite being in a horrible situation. I love that she has her low moments, but she always pushes through.
The Guys of In Your Arms Tonight
- Genji: Your first love that has become a famous, international soccer star. He's arrogant and self-centered. He's always there for the MC when she needs help.
- Shohei: Your co-worker. It's painfully obvious that he has a crush on you for awhile. He says the sweetest things and is always there for you.
- Kiyoto: Young college student. He's pushy and teases the MC a lot.
- Kippei: Your boss. He's very dedicated and serious about his work. He's a very observant and caring person and takes care of the MC in small ways.
- Soji: Genji's younger brother and a ceramicist. He is quiet and very introverted. He has had feelings for the MC ever since he was young.
- Ginnosuke: An older charming gentleman that is a ladies' man. Also Kippei's friend.
- Koichi: Your husband. Your rude, stuck up stank face ass cheating husband. Nuff said.
- Ritsu: Koichi's friend. Super odd and blunt.
- Tsukasa (Coming soon)
Attractive: Kippei, Genji, Soji, Shohei
Intriguing Character Description: Kippei, Soji, Genji, Shohei, Tsukasa
Routes I Want to Purchase After Playing: Kippei (purchased already), Genji (purchased already), Shohei, Soji
Guys I Hated:
- Koichi: Ugh, just ugh! His rudeness drives me wild; in my opinion it's pretty much abuse.
- Kiyoto: You can't just grab and kiss someone! He's too physically pushy and I don't think that's cute, it's called inappropriate touching and harassment.
Note: Ritsu, Soji, and Ginnosuke are not in the prologue, but I read their first chapter for free.
Ginnosuke: I was really feeling him until I did some research and found out that he hits the MC ummmmm helllll no!
Ritsu: I appreciate him keeping it real, but I didn't feel any interest.

Ritsu: I appreciate him keeping it real, but I didn't feel any interest.
Soji: Love, love, love his character.
