My First Geek Girl Brunch | The Ghibli Brunch

Hey honey babes! This week has been snowy and rainy, and I'm looking forward to warmer weather. Last Saturday I attended my first Geek Girl Brunch, and it was awesome! Geek Girl Brunch is a monthly themed brunch for ladies only, sorry boys. It started in NYC, but now has chapters all over the word. There's even a chapter in Germany! So if you're interested see if they have one near you. February's brunch was a Studio Ghibli themed brunch at a restaurant called Do Or Dine. I wore my Tee Fury Ghibli/Beatles tee; it was hiding from me for a few days, but I was able to find it. Please enjoy the food porn^^
I was surprised to learn when I arrived that the restaurant was closed and only open for us. It was nice having the place to ourselves. I thought that was amazing. I arrived with about three or four other ladies; the remaining ladies around a few minutes later. We ended up being a squad about 30 deep.

The menu was created by one of the chefs and was based off of Ghibli movies. Each table was able to pick up to four items off the Munch menu. The mimosas and bloody marys were bottomless. The gentleman that was refilling our drinks was a baddddd man lol We nicknamed him house elf because we would drink our mimosas down or halfway, get distracted for two seconds, look back and our drink would be filled back up I honestly lost count of how many mimosas I had on account of that man.
Adorable little soot sprites
They gave away adorable items. I got a Totoro hair bow, I will def try to use it in a Lolita coord; one girl got an adorable Howl's Moving Castle reversible cell phone charm. It had Sophie, Howl, and Calcifer on it.

I made a quite a few friends; all the ladies were awesome and hilarious. I think some people were a little shy in the beginning, but once the drinks started flowing we got loud and had some much fun. It didn't get a chance to talk to the people behind me, but my table and the table beside us talked throughout the brunch.

A few people dress up and did nail art. Howl, Princess Mononoke, and No Face made an appearance. Their outfits were really thought out and amazing. A few of the ladies wore red bows for Kiki's Delivery Service.

Before we dug into the food we toasted and paid our respects to Leonard Nimbly LLAP, may he rest in peace. The menu selection looked amazing, and it all tasted fantastic. I had frog legs for the first time. Boba and I watched Muppets in Manhattan last night, and he kept teasing me and saying that I ate Kermit or Miss Piggy and Kermit's baby. He so rude lol
Delicious squid
Chicken and waffles
Our libation
Our delicious dessert, this thing made me have a foodgasm. It was soooooo freakin delicious! The whipped cream/mousse was nutella and cayenne pepper. Bruh, that combination is dangerous. I'm really happy that I decided to attend this brunch! I signed up yesterday for the brunch next Saturday. It's going to be a game brunch at a place called The Uncommons; I'm very excited to check this place out because Boba and I play Magic, and this place has Friday Night Magic^^ Thanks for stopping by!
